TIPS FOR AIRLINE TRAVELERS!
As your corporate travel management company, UNIGLOBE VIP Travel would like to offer the following tips on behalf of the airlines, in order to assist you through the challenges and demands of travel in an era of new rules, regulations, and security safeguards.
- Make sure that you have your PHOTO ID out and available at all times until you are completely through security. Once you have reached the gate area, you will not need your photo id to board the plane.
- If you are not checking your baggage, make sure that all of your liquid and gel protects are under 3 ounces and packed a clear quart-sized plastic bag.
- As a domestic traveler, checking baggage, you should be at the airport at least 90 minutes prior to your scheduled flight. Morning flights allow for additional time due to the number of flights and transportation delays.
- Those domestic travelers not checking baggage should arrive at the airport at least 60 minutes prior to departure.
- For those on International flights, all passengers are advised to be at the airport a minimum of two hours prior to departure.
- Do not make negative comments about security or flight personnel that could cause you to be detained or removed from the plane.
- Since you have an electronic ticket, carry a printed itinerary to verify your flight status.
- Make sure that each individual piece of luggage and all carry-on baggage include passenger name, and information on the outside and inside of your luggage.
- Do not pack sharp objects such as razors, scissors, nail clippers, nail files, etc. in carry-on luggage, as it will be confiscated. Pack needed objects in your checked baggage.
- Wear socks to protect your feet as you will need to remove your shoes when proceeding through security.
- You need to be at the passenger gate a minimum of 30 minutes before departure for domestic travel.
- Airline club members need to be at the boarding gate 20 minutes before departure.
- Take all electronic devices such as laptops and cell phones from their carrying cases prior to placing them on the security screening devices at all checkpoints.
- Eliminate as much medal such as heavy belt buckles, jewelry, change, etc. from your person before proceeding through security.
- Eliminate prohibited items such as knives, scissors, and other things from your purses and carry-on luggage before you leave for the airport.
- Make copies of your credit cards, photo id, passport and visas and leave a copy with family or friends.
- Be prepared for additional searches of carry-on luggage and purses at the gate.
Because of the strict security measures, the airlines will not provide any additional information or details on other random security measures that might be enforced or implemented in the months to come. So remember the motto of a good scout:
BE PREPARED!
